Your phone has four apps that don’t talk.

The dialer, the address book, messages and payments. They have looked the same since the first smartphone, and each one forgets the moment you close it. So the ledger of your life lives in your head: the call you owe your mother, the plumber who said Monday, the friend who paid for dinner, the two texts from a client you never answered.

Every tool that promised to help made you do the bookkeeping. Reminder apps want you to type. CRMs want you to file. The phone, which already saw every call and every message, was never asked to remember.

The phone saw everything. Nobody asked it to remember.

The evidence is already on the device.

A missed call from a saved contact with no call back. Two unanswered texts from the same person. A bank alert that a transfer went through. A payment that has arrived on the 5th three months running. None of this needs a form. It needs an operator that reads what the phone already has and keeps the account.

Momentum is that operator. It reads the call log, the notifications you allow, and the notes you speak after a call, and turns them into a small number of true statements: who is waiting on you, what is due, who you have let drift. Computed on the phone, from the phone’s own history.

We’re starting with the call.

The wedge is the phone app itself. Say who to call and when, and the reminder fires, dials, and preps you with what was said last time. Momentum can be the default dialer, with the in-call screen, caller ID and a spam shield that declines a blocked number before it rings.

From there it grows along the number. Operator replies for you inside the rules you set. Stream turns what arrived into a feed instead of a queue. Pay hands a person’s money off to the rail their country uses. Ask is the brief before you have asked anything. Four tabs, and four is the ceiling.

This could not be built until now.

A model that reads your messages has to live on your phone, or it should not exist. Gemma 4 runs on a handset with 4 GB of RAM, which means the reading, the reply drafts and every insight happen with the radio off. The cloud is a switch you own, with your own key, and it is off until you say otherwise.

And the phone number has become the address for everything. In India, where Momentum is built, a number is how you get paid, how you log in, and how people find you. A phone app that understands people, not numbers, is the natural next layer. We are building it for the places where the number already is the identity, and then for everyone else.

Every observation Momentum makes is a rule you can read. These are the thresholds in the code, not a description of them. If nothing clears a rule, nothing is shown.

The brief line

One sentence under the greeting. People first: calls to return, then replies waiting on you, then payments due today. If nothing is true, the line isn’t drawn.

Needs you

At most four things. Ranked by how fresh it is, how close the deadline is, what missing it costs, whether a person is involved, and how sure it is. Weighted 30, 25, 20, 15, 10.

Waiting on you

Two unanswered texts from one person, or two missed calls, become a finding. One unanswered text is life, not a finding. A call over 45 seconds settles the thread.

Momentum Load

A 0 to 100 read of your week against your own trailing baseline. Communication counts 40, commitments 35, money 25. Never a health or stress measure.

Noticed

At most two observations, each shown three times at most, gone for good once dismissed. Needs a baseline or a comparison to exist at all. A bare number never makes it.

Drifting

Set a cadence per person, like talk every ten days. Exactly one person surfaces at a time: whoever is furthest past double their cadence.

Cadence

Three settled payments with a steady gap become an expected one. Weekly, monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or yearly. That is what makes the next 30 days of outflow a plain query.

Scam score

Bank words from a personal number, a payment artifact like an OTP or a processing fee, a link, urgency. Four points flags it. It never interrupts a payment in flight.

On the phone, by construction

Contacts, the call log, your notes, message reading, reply drafts and every insight above are computed on the device. The AI is Gemma 4 through LiteRT-LM. There is no server to send them to.

Cloud is yours to switch on

Connect your own Gemini key and Ask, Operator and plans can use it. Dictation over the cloud is a second, separate switch, because it sends audio. Both are off until you turn them on.

No account, no analytics

Nothing to sign up for. The dependency list has no analytics SDK in it. Network access exists to fetch the model and to call the key you added.

The model is a download

About 2.6 GB for Gemma 4 E2B on phones with 4 GB of RAM, 3.7 GB for E4B on 6 GB and up, over Wi-Fi. Until it lands, Momentum runs on a hand-written parser and says so.

As your phone app, it’s early

Momentum can be your default dialer, with hold, audio routing, drive mode and conference calls. That was built without an on-device test harness. Try a call before you rely on it. You can revert in Settings.

Money never passes through

Pay hands off to the rail your country uses: UPI apps, Venmo, and the rest. The amount travels only where the rail can carry it, and a candidate ID is found in your own messages, shown with the sentence it came from.
